The Saudi Arabian Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) is preparing to introduce city's $23bn plan with Riyadh bus network, which will transport eight million people in the capital Riyadh.
SAPTCO officials told,” The company has planned an extensive network in Riyadh after launching services there last month at the same time as the coastal city of Jeddah.”
Earlier the private minibus drivers offered bus services in the two cities only.
The routes bridging from Aziziya in the south to the north and King Fahd Stadium in the east to the Diplomatic Quarter in the west will have a total of 3,500 buses which will cover 5,000 destinations in the Saudi capital.
Fares will range somewhere in between SAR3 ($0.80) to SAR5 ($1.33)

The commuters will have a new public transport smart card system, just like the Dubai NoI, which could be used to pay for all the different means of public transport.
The buses will also be linked to advanced signal control systems and feature devices to count passenger numbers, all linked to a control room and four operation and maintenance centre’s.
The metro is planned to corporate more than 365 million passengers per year in its opening phase and 1.3 billion per year in the future. The smart card system will also be linked to the metro stations.
