UAE Samsung’s mobile payment service ‘Samsung Pay’ has now been made available for online payments, after one year of its launch.
The payment service was limited to in-store retail payments, until now, but will launch for users of the service to pay for goods online.
UAE is the first country where Samsung Pay has been enabled, following lucrative launches in the United States, Russia and Singapore.
Samsung said that the service is suitable with all major operating systems and browsers, as well as with mobile apps.
Head of enterprise, Mobile Business at Samsung Gulf Electronics, Mohammad Gharaibeh said, “We are delighted to announce this new feature to the Samsung Pay service, which will enable users to use their mobile wallet for even more transactions moving forward.”
In the beginning, the new service will be facilitated through Samsung’s regional payment gateway partners like CCAvenue and Mashreq Bank in the UAE.
Samsung Pay is currently available for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Note 5, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2016) and Galaxy A Series (2017). Samsung Pay is also available for the Gear S3 in the US.
