IHOP Restaurant, a US based family restaurant chain has opened its first location in the Middle East. The first IHOP opened in The Mall of the Emirates in the Al Barsha district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will offer many of the same traditional favorites menu items as US locations. However, all meats at IHOP in Dubai will be Halal-certified. Previously IHOP had signed a development agreement with M.H. Alshaya Company to introduce the brand in the region. As per the agreement, Alshaya will open 40 IHOP restaurants in several Middle Eastern countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Egypt. For 54 years, the IHOP family restaurant chain has served its world famous pancakes and a broad range of breakfast, lunch and dinner items that are savoured by people of all ages. DineEquity, Inc. is the parent company of IHOP Restaurants that also owns Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Kuwait headquartered international retail franchise operator, Alshaya has over 2,200 stores in 19 international markets across multiple sectors like fashion and footwear, health and beauty, food service, optics, pharmacy, office supplies and home furnishings.
