Fitness First, a US health and fitness chain has plans to launch new clubs across the Middle East by January 2012.
The company, a part of the Landmark Group in the MENA region, will debut in Abu Dhabi by launching two new clubs one each at the Marina Mall and Dalma Mall. The Marina Mall branch is scheduled to open on October 15 and Dalma Mall branch will open its doors in December 2011.
The company is also expecting to launch three new branches in Dubai. This will take the count of outlets in UAE to 17 and total number of outlets in the Middle East to 23. The proposed health clubs will open in Dubai Motor City and Deira City Centre and become operational by the end of the year. Recently, Fitness First's has acquired Apollo Club in Dubai Knowledge Village.
Landmark Group obtained Fitness First franchise for the Middle East region last year. The group’s investment arm, Landmark Investments struck a 100 per cent buyout of the previous franchisee Leisure Unlimited, a subsidiary of the Saudi leisure conglomerate Al Hokair Group.
