BurgerFuel Worldwide (BFW), the fast food chain from New Zealand has signed a new franchisee in North Africa. It has entered into a master licensing agreement with Sadeen General Trading in Libya. The burger chain has its international headquarters in Dubai and it has expanded majorly in the Middle East, which now accounts for about a quarter of its revenue. Last month, Burgerfuel signed up a franchise deal for Qatar. In 2011, Burger Fuel launched two stores in Saudi Arabia and two in Dubai along with entering a franchise agreement in Iraq. It also granted a master license for Egypt to launch brand outlets expected to come up in 2012. Besides, brand’s UAE master franchisee has formed a joint venture with the Abu Dhabi based Bin Hammoodah Group to open stores in Abu Dhabi from the middle of 2012. Auckland-based BFW is a NZAX listed company which became public in 2007.
