Babyshop, a leading retail brand for children products has disclosed its plans to invest over Dh1 billion to expand its retail footprint across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The brand is looking to open over 75 outlets in the next five years in the region. It is planning to have 33 new international locations including five new stores in its United Arab Emirates and two new outlets in Kenya by mid 2012. By this, the company is aspiring to have more than 200 stores after the planned expansion.
Babyshop, the brand owned by Landmark Group, region's leading retail and hospitality conglomerate was founded in Bahrain in 1973. Currently, the brand has strong presence in the MENA region through its 133 stores out of which 27 stores are in the UAE. The brand caters to all children's' needs including fashion clothing, baby basics, safety and hygiene products, nursery furniture and toys. It also offers a variety of products for newborn babies, toddlers and children up to 16 years.
